Members, and friends of The Snake River Valley Bass Club:

This is just a short note to relay the latest news of the Snake River Valley Bass Club. Our March meeting did not happen. Only four of us showed up. A notice was not sent out and apparently few of our members went to our web site to find the date and location for our March meeting. April 19th we will be meeting in Pocatello at Perkins, (off of Pocatello Creek Road), at 7:00pm. We need to discuss and adopt new bylaws and tournament rules.

Your recently elected directors are: Steve Chikato, Eddie Delonas, Ted Simons, Dave Vega, Chris Delonas and Kyle Gelles. Kyle is also your tournament director.

Our bass club initiated a project to refurbish the Gifford Springs launch ramp. This project was quickly picked up by the Pocatello office of the Idaho Fish and Game who quickly removed the blocks in the old ramp, leveled the area and laid down new blocks. Steve and I helped the Fish and Game rake new gravel into the voids and clean up the area. It will be ready for use when the water level comes up.

The Bureau of Reclamation announced closure of 4,000 acres north of the Snake River near Massacre Rocks has been reversed thanks to the prompt efforts of Power County, the Snake River Valley Bass Club members, Bruce Flesher of the Idaho Bass Federation and the sporting public. Please call me when these things come up, I may not be aware of an emerging issue and I would like to help.

Up and coming events:

From Josh; save all of your old mono and flouro fishing line. Pure fishing will recycle it into habitat structure. Bring it to the meetings and Josh will arrange to pick it up. The ABA tournament scheduled for July 8th. has been moved to July 7th. Check the ABA web site for up to date scheduling and information.

Those interested in fishing the State Qualifiers please call me or Brandon Craner at 208-539-3419. I hope to see you at our meetings and on the water.

In your service,
Michael Tauscher, Snake River Valley Bass Club President

Our next meeting will be on April 19th at Perkins in Pocatello at 7:00 PM.
